1963
Joseph A. Giorgi, Esq. was elected the post director, judge advocate, and legal chairman of the Ira J. Jacobson American Legion Post.
1962
Richard Ognibene recently retired from a 50-year career in higher education. His book, A Persistent Reformer: Jonathon Kozol’s Work to Promote Equity in America, was published by Peter Lang Publishing in April 2012.
1966
Victor E. Salerno, Jr. was presented with the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Achievement Award in June 2012. Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
1967
Thomas B. Hogan, Jr. has been elected to Supreme Industries, Inc. Board of Directors. Thomas is the retired chief operating officer, Northeast Practice, of Deloitte & Touche. He enjoyed a nearly 40-year career with the public accounting firm and, at the time of retirement, was responsible for the Greater New York, New Jersey and Connecticut areas, as well as Boston and Philadelphia.
Thomas P. Proietti was given the 2012 Friend of Literacy Award from the Literacy Volunteers of Rochester organization. The ceremony was held on June 13, 2012 where they honored leaders, volunteers, and others from the Rochester community who help support the cause of literacy.
1969
Marty Palumbos served as the keynote speaker at the annual Fisher Student Investment Club Shareholder’s Report Dinner in the spring. Palumbos was invited to speak from his experience in financial planning and investment, and also his history with the Rochester Business Ethics Award.
1975
Carol Tudisco was honored with the 2012 Staff Community Service Award at the University of Rochester. Tudisco works at the U of R Ambulatory Resource Office as an ambulatory patient representative and has been a Medical Center employee for more than three decades.
Tudisco was honored for her community service at a number of regional organizations including her 13-year record of dedication at InterVol, a local organization that provides medical assistance to areas around the world. She has also dedicated her time and talent through Single Volunteers of Rochester working with nearly a dozen other local organizations and participating in 138 events.
1976
Michael A. Colliflower was named chair-elect of the Insurance Regulation Committee (IRC) for 2012-2013 of the Torts & Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. Currently, Colliflower is Chair of the Continuing Legal Education of the IRC and working on a program in November in the Washington, D.C. area.
1986
Cheryl Lynn Yawman, CPA of Fairport has been installed as president of the Rochester Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). Yawman is practice director, accounting and finance executive search, for Cochran, Cochran & Yale, LLC in Rochester.
1989
Vincent J. Harper was promoted by M&T Bank to administrative vice president.
1990
Colleen (Stack) Lynch was named associate director of technologies communications at ESPN, Inc. In this role, Lynch will manage internal communications efforts for the more than 800 employees in the company’s technology division as well as oversee strategic projects and events for the senior management team. Lynch joined ESPN in 2007 as an associate manager in the communications department and was named a manager in that area last year.
1991
Sarah McKenzie was recently appointed the director of trade union strengthening at the American Center for International Labor Solidarity, AFL-CIO in Washington, DC. This position supports ongoing programs with transnational trade union partners, particularly in sectors or countries where freedom of association violations and trade union repression are most evident. In Sarah’s new role, she is responsible for the direct management of global union organizing, strategic research and bargaining.

Jeffrey E. Bolte and Robin Bolte had a daughter, Katharine “Kate” Louise, on December 15, 2011. She joins older brother Jack.
1993
Laurie A. Ward accepted the position of chief marketing communications officer at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, PA.
1994
Gregory L. LaDuca was promoted to the director of sales at the DoubleTree by Hilton Rochester South.
Susan M. (Arnold/Stockmaster) Osborn was appointed director of the family nurse practitioner program at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is also a clinical assistant professor and works full time in an ENT surgical group. Susan is the first ENT nurse practitioner in El Paso.
Sharon L. (Bassette) Wu and Mark Wu had a son, Brandon Michael, on October 17, 2011.
1999
Erin E. Ells has been named principal of Klem Road South Elementary School in Webster, NY. She has been with the district 12 years, including three years at the Klem Road South as Assistant Principal.
2000
Kevin J. Bruyns and Leslie A. (Patterson) Bruyns ’03 had a son, Ryan William, on November 16, 2011.
Daniel E. Godfrey had a daughter, Jolene Ann, on August 31, 2011.
2001
Shannon A. (McCumiskey) Karcher and Jason Karcher had a son, Quinn Alec, on January 14, 2012.
Rosemary F. (Lepiane) Marani, Esq. has joined the law firm of Finocchio & English. She is a former assistant corporation counsel for the city of Syracuse. She is a member of the Onondaga County Bar Association, the State Bar Association and the St. John Fisher College Justinian Order. She will handle matrimonial and family proceedings as well as criminal matters.
Christopher S. Murphy and Jennifer Murphy had a son, Owen Thomas, on January 25, 2012.
Dr. Lesli C. Myers (MS, ’08 EdD) has been named superintendent of the Brockport Central School District.
Robert C. Schoener and Christine M. (Gabak) Schoener ’03 had a daughter, Hailey Elizabeth, on May 27, 2011. She joins older sister, Madison, who will be four in October.

Dr. Justin P. DePlato earned his Ph.D. in political science from SUNY Buffalo in August 2012.
Irvin Eshelman was promoted into SEMI WORKS at Garlock Technologies in July 2012.
2003
James (J.R.) Brau and Johanna Brau had a daughter, Zoey Madison, on October 17, 2011. They are currently living in Wilmington, Mass and J.R. is working in Boston as a senior HRIS analyst for Thomson Reuters.
Leslie A. (Patterson) Bruyns and Kevin J. Bruyns ’00 had a son, Ryan William, on November 16, 2011.
Christine M. (Gabak) Schoener and Robert Schoener ’01 had a daughter, Hailey Elizabeth, on May 27, 2011. She joins older sister, Madison, who will be four in October.

James P. Garvey and Sara H. (Kiesel) Garvey ’05 had a son, Keegan Michael, on May 11, 2012.
Jessica (Fluker) Spike and Todd Spike had a baby boy, Eli Brandon, on March 13, 2012.

Lori D. (Wilkinson) Henry and Jeremy J. Henry had a daughter, Chelsea Katherine Diane, on April 4, 2012.
2006
David P. Matturro has been hired as the Mount St. Mary’s men’s basketball director of basketball operations. He comes to Mount St. Mary’s after spending the last season as a graduate manager at Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to that, Matturo spent three seasons at Siena College as the director of basketball operations from 2008-2011.

Kaitlin M. (Valvano) Ingerick has been named the coordinator for executive communications at the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Jessica J. (Johnson) Rowlands and Bill Rowlands had a daughter, Reese Ava, on May 31, 2012.
2009
Ryan L. Furman, CPA was promoted to tax senior at Dannible & McKee, LLP. He has been with the firm since 2009.
Michael M. O’Connor, CPA was promoted to tax manager at Dannible & McKee, LLP. He has been with the firm since 2009.
2010
Katie J. Barlow has joined Fust Charles Chambers LLP, a certified public accounting firm, as an audit associate. She worked two years in the accounting department of a global services provider and is now pursuing her CPA license.
