Twenty-one area high school students representing 10 school districts were "College Bound" at St. John Fisher College for an intensive five-day resident program of college guidance earlier this month. Sponsored in part by M&T Bank, the College Bound program is for academically qualified, low-income students who will be the first in their families to attend college. The intent of the program is to familiarize the students with the various aspects of the college admission and application process, and provide them with the knowledge and skills to successfully search for, apply to, and select a college.
St. John Fisher College will provide high school students with the opportunity to get involved in the planning of their academic futures during the Summer Institute in July and August. The Office of Freshman Admissions is sponsoring the free one-day seminars designed to assist motivated students in the college selection and application process.
St. John Fisher College will look to the future-to the year 2020, to be exact-when it welcomes a group of potential students and their parents to campus on Saturday, Nov. 4. Pre-K @ College provides an opportunity for pre-schoolers from the Rochester City School District and their parents to learn more about the potential for higher education at St. John Fisher College.
