Jill Lavigne, PhD, MPH teaches two required courses, Healthcare Delivery (P1 Fall) and Population Based Healthcare (P2 Spring), advises the College’s interdisciplinary Open School Chapter of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and offers Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience rotations (P4). She is Co-Director of the Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Outcomes Research. Dr. Lavigne serves on the Wegmans School of Pharmacy committees on curriculum and interprofessional education and the strategic planning subgroup on administrative leadership. She previously served on the College Rank and Tenure Committee, Faculty Council, Faculty Assembly and Long Term Planning and Budget Committee.
Dr. Lavigne is Co-Principal Investigator of the Rochester Area Collaborative Center of Excellence in Pain Education (funded by the National Institutes of Health, PI: OJ Sahler, MD, University of Rochester Medical Center). She is an accreditation reviewer for the American Council on Pharmacy Education and represents the American Association of the Colleges of Pharmacy on the Healthy People 2020 Toolkit Advisory Committee (through the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research with funding from the Department of Health and Human Services). A health services researcher by training, Dr. Lavigne served as a chairperson (2012) and technical reviewer (2013) for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Healthcare Innovation Awards, and the Bundled Payments Initiative (2012). Dr. Lavigne has taught health outcomes research, pharmacoeconomics and pharmacoepidemiology at medical and pharmacy schools and served as a staff scientist in the US Department of Veterans Health Affairs. She has published in such journals as BMJ, the Journal of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research, the American Journal of Public Health and the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education.
