Wegmans School of Pharmacy

The Wegmans School of Pharmacy is dedicated to serving the needs of the public by preparing pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care that enhances the quality of life of the patients they serve. The school is committed to providing an environment that promotes academic excellence, service, and scholarship; encourages each student's intellectual and personal development; and fosters the development of lifelong learners committed to advancing the profession of pharmacy.

The Wegmans School of Pharmacy, which opened in the Fall of 2006, is the first of its kind in Monroe County and the fifth in the State of New York. Construction of the 37,000 square-foot building that houses the school was made possible by a $5 million donation by Robert B. Wegman, Chairman of Wegmans Food Markets, Inc.

The school opened on August 21, 2006 with an inaugural class of 55 students, nine faculty and two staff. Since its beginning, the school has grown to include over 300 students in four classes and over 40 faculty and staff.
