St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Nursing to Offer Free Concussion Education Day to Community
07/31/2014The St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Nursing will offer free ImPACT baseline testing and concussion education to 200 area middle and high school athletes on Tuesday, August 19. The program, which is being funded by the Wilmot Lecture Series, will conclude with a visit by the students to the Buffalo Bills Training Camp. Program partners also include the UR Medicine Sports Concussion Clinic and the Sports Legacy Institute. Read More
07/29/2014Dr. Colleen Donegan, Assistant Professor in the Wegmans School of Nursing, recently attended a national training course on end-of-life care presented by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and City of Hope (COH). The organizations received a grant from the National Cancer Institute to develop and implement the curriculum. Read More
07/28/2014Dozens of students from the East Rochester School District and the Rochester City School District’s “Horizons” summer camp program recently spent a week on the St. John Fisher College campus for “Discover at Fisher” week, learning about a variety of career options and more. The weeklong program took place July 21-25. Read More
07/14/2014The St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Nursing has received a $700,000 grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, for an Advanced Education Nurse Traineeship Program for primary care nurse practitioners. 07/11/2014The on-site evaluation of the Wegmans School of Nursing Baccalaureate program in nursing, Master's program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, and Post-Graduate Advanced Practice Nursing (APRN) Certificate program with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is scheduled for November 12-14, 2014. 07/08/2014Earlier today, St. John Fisher College officials broke ground on the College’s much anticipated Integrated Science and Health Sciences Building, slated to open in fall 2015. The new building is part of the College’s Building for the Future initiative. Read More

05/14/2014A total of 50 graduating seniors were honored on Friday, May 9, when students, their families and friends, faculty, and staff gathered in the Cleary Family Auditorium for the annual President’s Awards Ceremony. The awards were presented by Dr. Donald Bain and members of the Fisher faculty. Read More
05/08/2014A total of 24 nursing students and four faculty divided and conquered three parts of the world to complete their final clinical rotations before graduating this weekend. Ten students traveled to Peru, eight went to Ireland, and six had stops in Costa Rica and Nicaragua – all spreading love and medical care along the way. Read More
05/06/2014Students in Dr. Natalie Masco’s Complementary and Alternative Therapies course recently partnered with Mercy Community Services to link patients with alternative therapies and resources. This is the second semester the Wegmans School of Nursing has partnered with Mercy Community Services through service-learning. Read More
