Cunningham received both her bachelor of science in nursing and master of science in family health nursing from Binghamton University’s Decker School of Nursing. She continued on to pursue her Ph.D. in rural health nursing at Binghamton University as well. Before coming to Fisher, Cunningham was a clinical associate professor at Stony Brook University’s School of Nursing. She has also been an adjunct professor at Keuka College and here at Fisher in the past. In addition, she has worked at hospitals in Rochester, Syracuse and Auburn, including Highland Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center and Auburn Memorial Hospital. She has developed several nursing courses, and has written several publications including Proceedings of the Oncology Nursing Society and was a co-author for others, including Journal of Midwifery and Women’s Health. Cunningham has traveled all over the world to further her own knowledge in the field as well as practice and has been to China, Morocco, Egypt, Thailand and West Africa. She currently resides in Auburn.
