RN/BS Nursing Program

Nursing Simulation Lab

The RN/BS Program seeks to attract capable adult learners by offering a sound and rigorous professional education that is delivered in a modular blended (on-line and in-class) learning format that is efficient and accessible to nurses with many demands on their time.

The RN/BS curriculum builds on the study of nursing in Associate Degree and Nursing Diploma programs. Coursework focuses on advancement and refinement of knowledge and skills in such areas as leadership, ethics, physical assessment, theoretical foundations of practice, informatics, evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, professional portfolio development, and caring for populations.

There are two program options for RN students:

  • RN/BS - students can complete the RN/BS Program for a BS degree
  • RN/BS to MS Fast-Track - qualified students can substitute two graduate courses in nursing for two BS courses to fulfill undergraduate requirements. This accelerated approach allows students to shorten graduate degree requirements.

Key features of the program:

  • Blended learning combining on-line and in-class course delivery
  • Completion in 18 months
  • Nine 7-week modules include nursing and liberal arts courses
  • Convenient scheduling for the working nurse
  • MS Fast-Track option
  • Cutting edge content preparing the health care worker of the future
  • Course projects coordinated with employer needs
  • Students can apply for Federal and State grant and loan programs
  • Learn technology and information literacy skills
  • In-class meetings scheduled in the Wegmans School of Nursing's new state-of-the-art facility
