01/22/2015In the wake of the recent racially fueled protests in Ferguson, Missouri, and other places around the country, a group of Fisher faculty started discussing the issues with each other as well as their students. It was when the grand jury decided not to indict any of the police officers involved in the death of Eric Garner on Staten Island that this same group decided it was time to delve into the discussion a little more. 12/11/2014Dr. Mike Wischnowski, Dean of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education, recently attended a reunion for the Ed.D. in Executive Leadership Program at the College of New Rochelle (CNR), one of the program’s extension sites. The reunion took place on December 6 in Maura Hall at CNR and was organized by alumni of the program. Read More
12/03/2014On Wednesday, December 3, over 40 5th grade Palmyra-Macedon students traveled to St. John Fisher College to meet with students from the Ralph. Wilson, Jr. School of Education. The objective was to showcase the college experience, first-hand, along with the benefits that come with furthering their education to the young visitors. Read More
11/06/2014This semester, students in Dr. Susan Schultz’s Language Acquisition and Literacy Development course are enveloped in service-learning, working with Volunteers of America and Maplewood Library on after-school programs for children ranging from pre-school through elementary school. 10/29/2014On October 17-19, Dr. Susan Schultz, Associate Professor in the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education, and Dr. Christine Nelson-Tuttle, Associate Professor in the Wegmans School of Nursing, presented at the Narcolepsy Network’s 29th Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado. Their presentation was titled, “Transitioning to College with a Sleep Disorder.” Read More
