Dr. Jonathan Brown, a graduate of the Executive Leadership doctoral program, was recently named to the editorial board of The Journal News, a newspaper serving New York’s Lower Hudson Valley.
School of Education alumna Leah Barrett was recently presented with the Dissertation of the Year award, given by the Association of College Unions International.
On Saturday, March 21, the St. John Fisher College Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education held the fourth hooding and awards ceremony for graduates of the Ed.D. in Executive Leadership program at The College of New Rochelle, one of two extension sites where the program is offered.

Dr. Mike Wischnowski, Dean of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education, recently attended a reunion for the Ed.D. in Executive Leadership Program at the College of New Rochelle (CNR), one of the program’s extension sites. The reunion took place on December 6 in Maura Hall at CNR and was organized by alumni of the program.
This academic year, St. John Fisher College has welcomed several new faculty. Some have previously served as adjunct faculty members, while others are new to the College.
On August 3 and 4, the St. John Fisher College Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education and the School’s Executive Leadership Doctoral Program sponsored the “Schools Sharing What Works” symposium for charter school teachers, leaders, and board members from across New York State. Over 100 participants came together to share innovative practices and practical strategies for student success.
Dr. Arlette Miller Smith, Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies, Director of the African American Studies Program, and faculty member in the Executive Leadership (Ed.D.) Program, was recently commissioned to create an original piece for the Emma Willard School’s Bicentennial Celebration on May 10.
The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education held its hooding ceremony on Friday, May 9, and honored seven students for their efforts in the Executive Leadership program.
On Friday, May 2, the St. John Fisher College Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education held an “Education Celebration” to recognize and celebrate the College’s support for education, educators, and community leadership. Graduating seniors, graduate candidates, and alumni were honored during the event.
