Four Grants Fund Community Initiatives at the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education

Four grants totaling more than $110,000 will help fund three education and leadership initiatives through the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education at St. John Fisher College. The School’s Charter School Leadership Network, Mentoring Matters, and College Club programs—all of which serve teachers and students in local school districts—each received funds that will support their operation and longevity. School of Education Partnership with East Rochester School District Puts Theory into Practice

In the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education partnerships with Rochester area school districts can provide teacher candidates with valuable classroom experience. Dr. Jeff Liles, an associate professor in the School, took that concept one step further with the redesign of an upper-level methods class that brought four teachers and a principal onto campus as co-instructors, creating a course that brings theory and practice together in a direct, strategic way.
