Marketing Program

Why Study Marketing at Fisher?

Companies need great marketing to sell their products and services. Without it, they will fail. Marketing is a crucial function for all companies, large and small, across all business segments.

That's why a B.S. in Marketing is a gateway to so many challenging and rewarding careers today.

If you're interested in understanding buyer behavior, gathering and analyzing market information, communicating and building relationships with customers, and marketing products and services to domestic and international clients, marketing is the field for you!

Exciting New Curriculum

As part of the B.S. in Marketing, Fisher has developed new courses in Internet Marketing and in Supply Chain Systems to keep you on top of ever-changing market trends.

These new courses augment traditional courses such as Promotion, Selling, Buyer Behavior, and Market Research.

You'll also be able to take classes in fields such as Advertising and Public Relations through the Media and Communication department.

Award-Winning Activities

Since its inception in 2010, Fisher's official AMA Student Collegiate Chapter has won several awards at the collegiate, regional, national, and international levels. These awards have raised recognition of the club with an irrevocable reputation of success.

The most recent chapter awards and accomplishments include third place for best communication of chapter activities in an exhibit competition, commendable mention in a vitaminwater case competition, and collegiate chapter excellence in communication, chapter planning, and community impact – all received from the 2015 International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Marketing Club was named Student Government Association's Best Academic Club and received an Honorable Mention: Best Publicity award in 2014-15.

Accelerated Time to an MBA Degree

As a Marketing major, you may qualify for the 4+1 MBA program which would allow you to complete your MBA degree within a year of your undergraduate degree.

Marketing Internships Spotlight

Emma Neatour

Emma Neatour '15

Emma Neatour had a very unique internship experience as a Marketing Intern for Stacy K Floral, a small, up-and-coming flower shop located on scenic Park Avenue.

Although Emma worked for a floral shop and not a marketing agency, she still learned and incorporated valuable skills such as client communication, product/service promotion, and social media content creation and execution. However, she also had the opportunity to assist in the floral bouquet construction process, the delivery process, and the daily duties for a small business operation.

Emma specifically worked to improve the shop's social media outreach to attract more customers by highlighting the shop's unique floral work.

Emma said that she learned a lot about inventory, pricing, and how a store runs - all things she could learn in the classroom, but could only gain a real understanding of through real-world experience. She plans on interning until graduation in order to gain as much experience as possible before finding a position in the marking field.
