HRM Internships Spotlight

Julia Polsinello

Julia Polsinello '15

Julia Polsinello learned the ropes to common human resources practices through her internship at the Hillside Family of Agencies, founded and headquartered right here in Rochester, NY. She worked under Annie D'Amico as a Staffing Intern at Hillside, a non-profit organization that provides support, counseling, education, and housing services for children and families.

Her tasks included checking the job employment mailbox, logging any possible applicants into the system for approval from her supervisor, serving as a job fair representative for the company, and helping with on-board orientation for new hires.

She said the internship allowed her to take everything she learned in the classroom and apply that knowledge to a real-world setting.

After graduation, she hopes to use this internship as a tool to figure out which division of human resources might be best for her.
