Hands-On Curriculum

The B.S. in human resources management curriculum focuses on job-relevant skills in team-building, leadership, and conflict management.

By graduation, you will be well-versed in a variety of HR roles, including recruitment, training, development, and compensation, allowing you to help firms in a variety of industries maximize their employees.

Professional Development

Fisher's student chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) was officially inducted in February 2011.

The chapter has already received SHRM's Honorable Mention Award for its achievements and commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to members.

Accelerated Time to an MBA Degree

As a human resources management major, you may qualify for the 4+1 MBA program which would allow you to complete your MBA degree within a year of your undergraduate degree.

HRM Internships Spotlight

Ke’Shon Webb

Ke’Shon Webb '16

As president of the Collegiate Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Club, Ke’Shon Webb was instrumental in bringing human resource experts to the St. John Fisher College campus to speak with club members. Over the course of the fall 2015 semester, Webb was able to become a human resource professional himself, albeit temporarily, through a School of Business internship.

The senior human resources management major interned at the Hillside Family of Agencies, an organization that provides health, education, and human services to disadvantaged children and their families. As part of his experience, Webb posted employment opportunities online and pre-screened resumes. Performing these and other duties reinforced his career interest in HR while giving him practical work experience in the nonprofit arena.

On target for graduation in spring 2016, Webb plans to continue his education. He would like to work toward a master’s degree in either human resource management or development, in anticipation of a career in corporate recruitment.
