Accounting Internships Spotlight

Christine Cook

Christine Cook '16

Accounting major Christine "Chrissy" Cook used an internship experience at local construction company the DiMarco Group to put the accounting knowledge and skills she has learned at St. John Fisher College to the test. Working closely with the other six employees in this small Rochester-based office, Cook applied accounting theory taught in the classroom to actual field work.

From reviewing financial statement to mailing letters, she was exposed to more facets of a business than she might have experienced in a larger office, where tasks are parsed out among several different workers and departments. The majority of her time, though, was focused on creating purchase orders and amending consumer contracts.

A senior at Fisher, Cook has secured a position as a staff auditor with the Rochester office of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) after graduation. She is convinced that her internship experience at DiMarco had a hand in her landing the PwC job.
