MBA Students Receive Scholarships from New York Society of CPAs

07/06/2011

Two recent St. John Fisher College graduates, Sarah Bihl and Andrew Goodlein, received the 2011-2012 Excellence in Accounting Scholarship from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and its Foundation for Accounting Education (FAE).

Both students were undergraduate accounting students, and will be entering the Bittner School of Business MBA-Accounting program this fall. The $2,500 scholarships will be used towards their graduate tuition.

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to encourage and aid deserving candidates to enter the accounting profession. Scholarship awards are based on financial need and academic performance.

Recipients must be enrolled at or accepted to a New York State college or university that offers an accounting program(s) registered by the New York State Education Department as meeting the educational requirements for admission to the CPA examination.

The NYSSCPA was incorporated in 1897, and is one of the largest state accounting organizations in the nation with more than 28,000 members.
