Investment Club Occupies Wall Street

The St. John Fisher College Investment Club decided to occupy Wall Street during spring break for the second year in a row.

Students spent two days in the Big Apple, making stops at NASDAQ, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Bloomberg headquarters along the way. Additionally, the group toured the American Finance Museum on Wall Street.

In coordination with the College’s Development Office, the club members delivered a presentation about the club portfolio management results, as well as its other activities, to some of the College’s most distinguished alumni at the offices of Cantor Fitzgerald.

“Undoubtedly, our students benefited from the experience,” said Dr. Jana Berglund Simon, Assistant Professor of Accounting/Finance and the club’s faculty advisor. “The trip fostered an understanding about the current situation and employment opportunities in the financial industry.”

Dr. Patricia Wollan, Assistant Professor of Finance, also accompanied the group.
