Countdown to Commencement – Sam Rosenzweig

This week’s “Countdown to Commencement” video features Sam Rosenzweig, an Accounting major. He was nominated by Professor Mike Fedoryshyn from the Ronald L. Bittner School of Business.

Rosenzweig is currently the co-director of finance for the Student Government Association (SGA), serves as an accounting tutor, and was part of the orientation team this past fall. During his freshmen year, he played for the College’s baseball team. Additionally, he is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the International Business Honor Society, and has made the dean’s list every semester.

Most recently, he was a member of the Deloitte Tax Challenge team that traveled to Boston for a national tax competition in October. He and his teammates placed in the top 10, alongside teams from schools including Bentley University, Boston College, North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Michigan State University. Rosenzweig has also competed in the PricewaterhouseCoopers xTax Competition, an annual event that takes place here on campus.

“Sam is a leader in and out of the classroom,” said Fedoryshyn. “From his involvement with the SGA Finance Committee to his activities within the Accounting Department, he is always completing his work and tasks to the best of his abilities and has accomplished quite a lot while at Fisher.”

He has been the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship Award, Honors Program Award, Otto Shults Scholarship Award for Accounting Excellence, and the Accounting Faculty Recognition Award.

Rosenzweig has already accepted a position with Deloitte and Touche LLP in Rochester and will start right after graduation.

“Sam has great things ahead of him in his career,” added Fedoryshyn. “But whatever he does and wherever he does it, I know he will be one of those loyal Fisher alums who will continue to give back to the College, to the community, and to the profession.”
