Quantitative professions ranked among the best jobs for 2011

03/03/2011

According to the annual CareerCast job outlook survey, quantitative professions are among the top rated jobs for graduates. Mathematician (3rd), actuary (4th), and statistician (5th) achieved "Top 10 Best Jobs" status again in 2011, as they did in 2009 and 2010.

To rank jobs, the survey calculates a composite score based on five criteria: working environment, income level, employment outlook, stress, and physical demands. These findings show that students with quantitative skills are able to get challenging and well-paying jobs upon graduation.
