09/11/2014If Sport Management students walk by Dr. Todd Harrison’s office, they will see someone inside, but it won’t be him. Instead, they will see Dr. Jean McArdle from the Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) in Waterford, Ireland, who has exchanged her faculty role with Harrison this semester. McArdle will teach some of Harrison’s classes here, while he has hit the ground running in Ireland teaching some of her course load. Read More
05/15/2014St. John Fisher College’s Sport Management Department culminated its 2013-2014 school year by recognizing four members of the senior class for their successes and awarding its Sport Manager of the Year award to Jamie Hammond, General Manager of Total Sports Experience. Read More
05/14/2014A total of 50 graduating seniors were honored on Friday, May 9, when students, their families and friends, faculty, and staff gathered in the Cleary Family Auditorium for the annual President’s Awards Ceremony. 03/21/2014On March 13, five students from the St. John Fisher College Sport Studies Department participated in the 2014 Diamond Dollars Case Competition, a statistics-based contest which takes place at the annual Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) Analytics Conference. Read More

01/30/2014On Wednesday, February 5, the Sport Studies Department will hold events to celebrate the 28th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NWGSD), which will once again include an essay contest and a teeter-totter marathon. Read More
01/24/2014The morning of the Olympic opening ceremonies in Sochi, two Sport Management faculty members will serve as guest lecturers for the February First Friday Lecture, where they will take a look back at the 50-year history of the Olympic Games. Read More

11/01/2013This past August, Fisher found itself squarely in the hotbed of the professional sporting world with the Buffalo Bills taking up residence on campus, and the PGA Championship Tournament taking place just a mile away at Oak Hill Country Club. Read More
08/13/2013Thanks to the PGA Championship and Buffalo Bills Training Camp, sports have been on the minds of most Rochesterians. It has also been on the radar of the Sports Business Journal , which recently ranked Rochester as the 2nd best minor league sports market in the country. A total of 229 cities and metro areas were surveyed for the ranking. Read More
Majors Attend SEME Conference in Washington
Recently, Dr. Todd Harrison and Mr. Bryson took a group of students to Washington, DC for the annual SEME Conference held at the Washington Nationals Park. Speaking at this event were over 70 Sport Industry professionals from around the country including the Chief Marketing Officer of the NFL, Mark Waller, Sport Columnist Christine Brennan and David Abrutyn, Senior Vice President & Global Head of Consulting for IMG.
