Student Presents at International Conference

On September 8, David Vosburgh '12 served as a panelist alongside St. John Fisher College faculty at the International Association for the Philosophy of Sport at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Rochester. Scholars from around the world, including Asia and South America, were in attendance.

Vosburgh was on a panel entitled, "Honor and Virtue in a Modern American College Sports Environment," along with Drs. Tim Madigan, Susan Hildenbrand, and David White. His discussion focused on a Contemporary Philosophy independent study he completed with Dr. Madigan this summer, and his comments stemmed from his findings from books such as Fair Play, and Ethics in Sport. Vosburgh is currently on the College's football team and is the president of the student philosophy club.
