This June, Dr. Ryan Gantner, an associate professor in the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences, delivered a workshop on inquiry-based learning in mathematics at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California.
St. John Fisher College student Camille Pensabene is spending the summer at California State University at Chico, participating in the National Science Foundation-funded Research Experiences in Mathematics for Undergraduates and Teachers program.
This year, the School of Arts and Sciences held an inaugural school-wide ceremony to recognize graduating seniors.
St. John Fisher College inducted five alumni into the College’s Science and Technology Hall of Fame at a ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 17, as a part of Alumni Weekend. Prior to the induction ceremony, the College also unveiled the Hall of Fame’s new home in the recently opened Integrated Science and Health Sciences Building during a cocktail reception.
Charles McVay ’15 was recently inducted into the New York Alpha Sigma Chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon at St. John Fisher College.

Dr. Kris Green, Professor of Mathematics, recently presented the opening talk in the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) Session on USE Math: Undergraduate Sustainability Experiences in the Mathematics Classroom at the 2015 Joint Mathematics Meetings which were held in San Antonio, TX.
Dr. Mark McKinzie, Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences, served as a speaker at the Mathematical Association of America Seaway Section Fall Meeting at Alfred University on October 11.
