Math Awareness Month Speaker Series Features Dr. Robert Leduc
On Tuesday, April 5, the Math Awareness Month Speaker Series will begin, sponsored by the St. John Fisher College Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences and the Statistics program. The speaker series will feature Dr. Robert Leduc from the University of Minnesota's Division of Biostatistics.
His presentation, "Six Minutes of Exercise is as Good as Six Hours Per Week: Interpreting reports of clinical studies," will focus on how, in many cases, we are underserved by poor reporting in the media or by venues with an agenda. In addition, he will discuss what conclusions can be drawn from original scientific investigations and how they are represented in the mainstream media.
The event will take place from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. in the Wegmans School of Nursing Room 100. Lunch will be served.
