Gantner Presents at SUNY Geneseo Mathematics Colloquium Series

On April 7, Dr. Ryan Gantner, assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences, was a featured speaker in the State University of New York at Geneseo's annual Mathematics Colloquium series.

His presentation, "It's Time to Play Hackenbush," introduced a two-player game studied by mathematicians called Hackenbush. The game is not only easy to describe and fun to play, but it also lends itself to complicated and interesting mathematical analysis. Gantner included some of his own contributions to the study of the game in his presentation, as well as results from research conducted by former students.
