Step 7: Program Costs and Financial Aid
All students are billed St. John Fisher College tuition and fees while studying abroad.
Students will be billed for any charges that appear on the affiliate bill (i.e.: room, board, insurance, and airfare). All students are charged an additional foreign study fee of $350.00 for each term abroad.
A student’s enrollment in a program of study abroad approved for credit by Fisher may be considered enrollment at Fisher for the purpose of applying for assistance under Federal Student Aid programs.
Financial Aid Exceptions
All students retain their financial aid while studying abroad excluding any room and board discounts. This means that Service Scholars and First Generation Scholars will not receive the 50% housing and meal plan discount while abroad. Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) students not required to study abroad for their major will receive $2,000 less in Fisher HEOP grant funds for the semester. An HEOP student required to study abroad for their major will not have any grant changes.
Tuition remission and tuition exchange cannot be used to study abroad.
Students considering studying abroad should meet with a financial aid counselor to discuss how this registration may impact their financial aid.
