English Professor Presents at Annual Convention

From April 7 – 10, Dr. Bill Waddell, professor of English, attended the annual convention of the Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA) in New Brunswick, NJ.

He presented a paper on Bharati Mukherjee's novel, Jasmine, in a session sponsored by NeMLA's Women's and Gender Studies Caucus, devoted to representations of transnational women's identities.

He also chaired a panel focused on the poetry of Gwendolyn Brooks.

Professor Waddell is now the President of NeMLA, and is looking forward to the 2012 convention, which will be held here in Rochester next March. St. John Fisher College will be the official host institution for that convention.
