Kristy (Guerra) Marks ’08 and Dawn Borgeest ’82 recently won the two top individual awards at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Rochester Chapter’s annual PRism Awards on June 19.
A total of 50 graduating seniors were honored on Friday, May 9, when students, their families and friends, faculty, and staff gathered in the Cleary Family Auditorium for the annual President’s Awards Ceremony. The awards were presented by Dr. Donald Bain and members of the Fisher faculty.
Tom Proietti, a former faculty member in the Media and Communication Department at St. John Fisher College, received the Charles M. Wise Volunteer of the Year award at WXXI and the Little Theatre’s Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, April 24.
It’s almost time to roll out the red carpet again, but this time, come in your sweatpants. On Thursday, May 1, students in Dr. Todd Sodano’s Television Production class will host the premiere of their original television series, “The Verge.”
On Wednesday evening, April 16, Dr. Randall Krieg, Provost, hosted the inaugural Adjunct Faculty Professional Development and Appreciation Reception.
Members of the St. John Fisher College student-run integrated marketing communications firm, The PRIMA Group, hosted the first annual “Gilda’s Cup” at Fisher and exceeded their expectations raising $3,500 for Gilda’s Club of Rochester.
Communication/Journalism students Theresa Lazzara ’16 and Sean Mullen ’16 recently received the Media and Communication Department’s Jack Palvino Excellence in Communications Scholarship.
This semester’s Introduction to Advertising course, taught by Adjunct Professor Kathleen Marchaesi-Ciaraldi, has been busy with a local high-end clothing boutique. They have been working closely with d. Kent & Co., located at the Culver Road Armory, creating an advertising plan for the store to use.
Members of the St. John Fisher College student-run integrated marketing communications firm, The PRIMA Group, will be hosting the inaugural “Gilda’s Cup: A Collegiate Comedy Improv Competition,” on Friday, April 4, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Cleary Family Auditorium. The event will kick off with a social hour starting at 6:00 p.m.
Dr. Todd Sodano, Assistant Professor in the Media and Communication Department, will serve as the guest lecturer for the April First Friday lecture when he presents, “Beatles to Breaking Bad: 50 Years of Great TV Moments,” on Friday, April 4.
