The St. John Fisher College Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) will host a weeklong celebration in honor of the AMA from October 6-9. “Marketing Week” gives the collegiate chapter a chance to connect like-minded marketing individuals and provide numerous networking opportunities to the student members.
In the midst of Alumni Weekend, there will be another important milestone acknowledged as the Media and Communication Department celebrates its 40th birthday. Faculty, current students, and alumni will gather for a birthday party in the Golisano Gateway Midlevel from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3. And yes, there will be cake.
If you are headed to the popular First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival, which is taking place now in downtown Rochester, you’ll see some familiar Fisher faces on stage and behind-the-scenes. Faculty members Dr. Ruben Gomez, M.J. Iuppa, and Jeremy Sarachan are all playing a role in the popular event.
This academic year, St. John Fisher College has welcomed several new faculty. Some have previously served as adjunct faculty members, while others are new to the College.
Kristy (Guerra) Marks ’08 and Dawn Borgeest ’82 recently won the two top individual awards at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Rochester Chapter’s annual PRism Awards on June 19.
A total of 50 graduating seniors were honored on Friday, May 9, when students, their families and friends, faculty, and staff gathered in the Cleary Family Auditorium for the annual President’s Awards Ceremony. The awards were presented by Dr. Donald Bain and members of the Fisher faculty.
Tom Proietti, a former faculty member in the Media and Communication Department at St. John Fisher College, received the Charles M. Wise Volunteer of the Year award at WXXI and the Little Theatre’s Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, April 24.
It’s almost time to roll out the red carpet again, but this time, come in your sweatpants. On Thursday, May 1, students in Dr. Todd Sodano’s Television Production class will host the premiere of their original television series, “The Verge.”
On Wednesday evening, April 16, Dr. Randall Krieg, Provost, hosted the inaugural Adjunct Faculty Professional Development and Appreciation Reception.
Members of the St. John Fisher College student-run integrated marketing communications firm, The PRIMA Group, hosted the first annual “Gilda’s Cup” at Fisher and exceeded their expectations raising $3,500 for Gilda’s Club of Rochester.
