The C/J major requires a minor taken in another department or program. The minors listed on this page may not be taken to fulfill that requirement.

Communication/Journalism

  • Introduction to Mass Communication (COMM 100)
  • At least 1 speech from the following:
    • Speech Communication (COMM 250)
    • Public Speaking (COMM 353)
    • Interviewing (COMM 354)
  • The remaining classes may be chosen from
    any COMM course (except 199 and 490).

Journalism

  • Advanced News Writing and Reporting (COMM 302)
  • Choose 3 electives from the following:

    • Newspaper Practicum (COMM 314: may be taken twice)

Strategic Communication

  • Advanced PR Programs and Management (COMM 472)
  • Choose at least one of the following:
