Education Student Lands Competitive Internship
St. John Fisher College Education student Arielle Mensch already has her summer plans figured out, since she recently landed a highly competitive internship with the American Chemical Society's Scholars Program.
The Adolescence Education/Chemistry major applied for the position after hearing about the program from Dr. Kristina Lantzky. She will be working at LANXESS, a corporation headquartered in Pittsburgh that is a leading specialty chemicals company with 14,850 employees in 24 countries. The company is represented at 45 production sites worldwide, and its core business is the development, manufacturing and marketing of plastics, rubber, intermediates, and specialty chemicals.
Mensch will be responsible for updating the company's business intelligence database, conducting desktop research of market segments and product applications, creation of databases for product lists and other information, and updating the company's U.S. website. She will also have the opportunity to work alongside the company's chemists on a daily basis.
