Dr. Aaron Podolefsky to be Featured at 2011 Applied Anthropology Lecture

Every spring, the St. John Fisher College Anthropology Department hosts its Applied Anthropology Lecture, featuring notable anthropologists from near and far. This year’s lecture will take place on Thursday, February 17, and the speaker will be Dr. Aaron Podolefsky, the new president of Buffalo State College. The lecture begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Golisano Gateway Midlevel, and is free and open to the public.

Podolefsky’s presentation is titled, “Applying Anthropology: Reflections in Three Chapters.” He will reflect on applying anthropology in three diverse settings including the New Guinea Highlands, urban America, and the university presidency.

He has authored books on Papua New Guinea law, community crime prevention, and applying anthropology.

Refreshments will be served following the lecture. Parking will be available in lots A/B.
