Civic Engagement
Through an education rooted in the liberal arts, St. John Fisher College prepares individuals for lives of intellectual, professional, and civic integrity, in which diversity and service to others are valued and practiced.

-
Community Service Office
- Fisher's Community Service Office, housed in Campus Ministry, provides and promotes a variety of community service activities that appeal to all members of the Fisher family. Both the Service Scholars Program and the First-Generation Scholarship Program are managed by the Community Service Office.

-
Community-Based Service Learning
- Community-Based Service-Learning addresses real community needs while enhancing the student learning experience within the classroom. Service-Learning cultivates each student's academic, civic, and professional development, meets the needs of community partners, and provides opportunities for faculty growth and development.

Center for Community Engagement
- The measure of a community is the sum of what its citizens give back in terms of their time, talent, and heart. The Center for Community Engagement (CCE), a collaboration among the City of Rochester, The United Way, and St. John Fisher College, was created to increase this sum for the greater Rochester area. Housed on the Fisher campus, the CCE’s mission is to enhance the community’s quality of life by:
- Increasing citizen involvement in voluntary community activities and
- Strengthening the community-based organizations that enable this involvement.
The CCE accomplishes this through a strategy of promoting partnerships and collaboration, bringing people and organizations together so that they are better able to achieve community goals. The CCE does not duplicate programs or services, but rather works through existing organizations, providing them with the assistance and resources to assure their success.
